My husband, Mark Dushkes, restores Japanese folding screens. His trash is my treasure. In remounting screens, the art is removed and the paper, fabric and wood structure underneath is thrown out. Much of the pillow paper used in screens is vintage recycled Japanese ledgers, newspapers, and books. I've pieced together these papers into a full sized Kimono.


The Petaluma Arts Council fosters exhibition programs, is interactive with community based programs and public art, hosts web registries for the arts and is instrumental in promotion of Dia de los Muertos.
